Stopped by to say hello. I'm new here. Hope to find tons of buddies & learn from all. I started a blog (my first ever) so you all will know a bit about me.Question: how many pics are we allowed to upload in each album? & What flower looks nice around the red hibiscus!? Can anyone help please. Any suggestions? thanks |

Welcome to GG from WI, rashell! Boy, sometimes I wish I lived somewhere you can garden outside all year long...those flowers are gorgeous. I also agree it's really simple to buy and plant stuff, more complicated to keep it growing. There have been quite a few "that-didn't-come-back" plants for me, and I keep learning how to not kill as many green things...mostly here at GG. My motto, being in zone 5 (sometimes acts like 4) is "there's always next year!" Thanks for joining, feel free to dig around a while! ![]() PS ooops forgot about your questions...as far as I know there is no limit to the # of pics you can post, however I'm not sure what I would plant next to a red hibiscus, as the one I inherited from my Mom hasn't bloomed yet (tropical variety, would probably be happier in your neck of the woods) |

Welcome, Rashell! Glad to have you join us! I enjoyed your pictures--lots of plants I'm not familiar with, even though I lived throughout California for 20 years. I moved up a few zones in 2001, to Portland, Oregon, and I've been enjoying Northwest gardening. I haven't grown hibiscus, so I'm not able to help you out either! |

Hi Rashell! I used to live out your way, but I'm back in OH-ten now. I know there's all sorts of areas out there. Are you oceanside, mountains, or in between? |

Welcome Rashell from South Carolina, I do grow hibiscus but don't have experience of a plant that would grow with it. I would think most anything that bushes would be good. I am ready to experiment with something that would help them stay standing. They tend to want to lean over as the year wears on. Let us know if you find a solution. Linda B from SC |

thanks for the welcome Mbvirtue, yes I can plant all year long but to tell the truth I'm not too crazy about Fall. Best time to plant some bulbs but the crazy wind drives me crazy. : ) I hear it will rain for a couple days but so far it's all wind. I'm worried about the new flowers I bought. I'm not sure if the wind will ruin them. I think I should go out there and move them until it is time to plant them? What do you all think? I'll post pictures after I reply here, so you all will have an idea of what I'm talking about. Anyway, I think I should post my questions on the general discussion board, not take up the introduction space. : ) Thanks once again Mdvirtue. |

Sweetlebee thank you. : ) You're not familiar with my flowers or flowers in general? I will eventually write in the caption section the name of the flowers I remember but it will take some time. |
