I decided to make a lil garden next year. 6'x6'. The patch of soil has never been used, and was under some debris till now. I picked up a shovel and loosen up the soil, mixing in the weeds (I intend on doing that tomorrow as well) I was wondering if there's anything I should do before next summer? |

I don't think that there is anything that you have to do now. I think it can wait until the Spring. |

So you turned over the soil, weeds and all? You might want to do something to keep the weeds from growing again come spring (and of course there are winter weeds around here in zone 8) Do you have access to free mulch? Or leaves from your own yard? I think I would try the layers of newspaper and put mulch on top of them to keep unwanted plants from growing there. Then in the spring you could just til all of it under. |
