That is a beautiful salvia and there are so many, I think you just need to love it. And the other? is it a Cleome? It is pretty also. LB |

Yes ~ the second one is a cleome ~ believe me, after this year, I should know .I have that salvia too but can't dredge up the name. Can't stand the smell of it though ~ is that weird?? |

now this is funny........ i just traded and got 100's of seeds for cleome. Is it an annual or a perennial? Gosh, all those seeds and one came up in my yard. I sure dont remember planting this one......... funny!!!! |

EW ~ cleomes are a self-seeding annual. They will not survive a hard frost, but the pods produce hundreds of seeds that will drop onto the ground and emerge the following year. I started out with ONE volunteer cleome last year and you can see what happened THIS year! |

YOU WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yahoo. That is it!!! I bought the coral nymph salvia too and now tis time to plant them. oh and find my keys so i can go to work.....

I have the coral nymph salvia too. I'm going to try to overwinter it. It's in a pot so maybe it would survive in the garage. I also have a salvia chipensis that didn't make it last winter--it's zone 9 and I'm 8--but I'm going to try mulching it well and hope for a surprise next spring. Pineapple sage is also supposed to be perennial here. Mine is huge--about 4 feet tall and wide! |
