Hi, I want to use organic manure for my garden. How do I make that at home?

An elephant perhaps? Though that would be a good source. Welcome to GG, tiny! We have people from all around the world at our forum, and a few others from India. Glad you could join us. |

Hi Tiny! My friend collects free manure from local horse stables. It has to be left to 'rot' before it can be used on the garden, as most manures are too strong when they are fresh. She leaves it in a pile at the end of the garden until it is ready. You'll need to avoid manure of animals who eat meat. Elephant manure is indeed good - in Australia the zoos sell elephant manure to gardeners. I'd try farms or stables. Different types of manures are better for different types of plants.. what are you going to use the manure for?

Hmm. Not sure I've ever heard anyone before ask how to make manure. What does the bumper sticker say? "Manure Happens"

hahahaha! We have 49 chickens (down from 100), and I can't figure out where it goes? You'd think that I would have the richest land in the county, but there is never an accumulation. I guess they scratch it into oblivion. |
