Hi Southerners, If you live in AL. AR. GA. KY. LA. MS. OK. TN. VA., you can go to www.statebystategardening.com and check out Gardening magazines for your individual state. The more knowledgeable gardeners may not be to impressed with them but those just starting out may like the extra help, just for their region. Tam |

I definitely fall into that latter category and will be checking it out. Thank you for sharing, Tam-Tam. Well, I decided to go ahead a take a minute to check it out. Looks like it costs money. I thought it was some kind of free help site. Think I can get enough free help here. Thanks anyway.

Sorry Meska, I guess I should have put 'garden magazine subscription' on the post. It is a bit pricey, but I have enjoyed reading the tips and information that is supplied for our state. Especially when the heat wave hit and the magazine did an article on plants that like Ky heat, that was very reasurring.

I still think that being able to get gardening advice specific to your zone is a great idea and two bucks a month is not an overwhelming amount to pay. You could always check your local library or ask them to order a subscription for their shelves. It doesn't seem like a difference of just one zone would be huge but it IS. When I lived in Wisconsin, they discouraged me from taking their Master Gardener class because they found out I was moving to KY. Only one zone away, but a world apart gardenwise. |
