i THINK I just found out these are two different plants....... species, etc. can anyone think why i would think they are the same, or has anyone else mixed them up OR what is my problem.

Well, they're both vines so that could be part of it. It's not just you. I have heard people call plants by many other names than what I am used to calling them, especially when I moved to another state. There have also been times when I stare at a plant and can't come up with the name for the life of me. As for clematis, there are many kinds of flowers and colors. When I lived in Wisconsin, I had a baby-blue-colored one, with flowers that looked like dahlias. Never seen the likes of it since, but most people wouldn't look at it and automatically think "hey, clematis". Since the most commonly sold clematis are purple, and passion vine flowers are purple, maybe that's the connection. |

Beautiful!!! a goal of mine is to get a vine, oh passion flower or clematis that is vivid red. I have so much purple already. Thank you for this pic!! awesome! |
