well this is the 3rd time i am trying to post this.......
what is this flower. It has a bulb that is sprouts from abou the size of you pinky fingernail. It is a true bulb in the fact it blooms every spring. It ia about 5 inches tall maybe a foot with the daylilly like plume for flowers, that dry and seeds are formed. It does re-seed easily.

Oh the joys of posting your first picture. Most of us have to post the picture first then type the text. There are a few people who can type then add the picture.

Now for your flower. I don't know what it is but I bet there is somebody here who will.

I get these ALL the time in our woods early in spring (late March/early April around here). Sorry, don't know the name, other than it's a wildflower, and I have had success digging them and putting them into my yard as LONG as it's in the shade.

OK ~ I think I found it. Searching for wildflowers of Kentucky, I found one called Fire Pink (silene virginica) sometimes called Catchfly. The pictures I looked at seem to be what I have in the spring.

I'm wondering why it's called catchfly--is it a sticky plant?

The stem exudes a sticky sap that traps small insects. But I think the silene flowers have 5 petals.

Hello EaglesWings
Your little beauty seems to me to be Southafrican, on the Iridaceae family.
Here's an URL with a lot of pictures, perhaps you can find it there:
