Hi, New to the Garden Guides. I'm finding it very interesting and I was wondering if any one could help me. I live in eastern part of Missouri just south of St. Louis. I've been trying to grow Cala lillies for about 3 years. I've been getting lots of leaves. They have doubled in amount however this year I didn't get any blooms. Previously I've had maybe one or two blooms but this year nothing. I fertized them and still nothing. Could the late freeze we had have caused this or should I give up on them and take them inside after this year? |

Welcome to GG from WI, mbrown338! Although I don't have a definite answer for the cala lilies, I'm sure someone will stop by with some help soon. The late snow up here wiped out most of my spring bulbs, didn't see anything from tulips, daffodils, or irises (irii?). Or maybe the fertilizer encouraged the foliage at the expense of the flowers... Anyhow, hope we see 'em back next year!

Welcome to the Garden I am growing a black Cala lily in a pot this summer. It is blooming but I have to watch the wind and having it in the direct hot afternoon sun. My cat seems like to like to eat the leaves..Will send a pic later. It wont winter over here so will be bringing it for the winter.
