I have a 1947 Hotpoint oven that was my grandmother's and I've hated to part with it. It's in the garage. With all the storage areas in it and the deepwell where a back burner would be I'm really tempted to use it for a potting bench. I'd have to unbury it, but I think it would make a good indoor one. It's even got a smooth top on half of the top surface. |

i think it would make your grandmother proud. Maybe even an open to the air potting shed with a roofing. It would be so attractive. I'd go for it in a heart beat! Great idea |

I saw one built one time with an old window as the back. It looked really nice. I have the window. Now I just need to build the bench to go under it. It sounds like a lot of us like the old rustic look for our gardens.

oh! oh! I have a suggestion. =] Cedar, Cypress, and Teak are the best materials for potting benches because they're so naturally weather resistant! http://www.cedarstore.com/category/potting-benches /1034 Attachments: ![]() |
