What kind of fern???

No, not maidenhair fern-I have that. That is a direct kin to a boston fern. They grow all over around here, too. Sword fern, maybe?

Hmmmm. Ferns are toughies to identify. And there's not many good fern identification books.

Aurora I think you are right it looks like a christmas fern to me.

Edited to add: I re-read the posts- I did add Christmas fern when talking of photos I still need to take those photos

I don't think it's cinnamon, ostrich, sword, or wood fern.

It is Ebony spleenwort, Asplenium platyneuron, very common in the south.
