I don't think it's expensive for you since you American earn much more than we Chinese do.Actually, some kind of water lily are also the price as yours in China. So far as I know,it only needs enough sunshine, water and some fertilizer, not hard to keep. And it can blossom half of the year in China and it can grow for many years. |

Xiaou Yu, I wonder if you thoroughly understand American currency. $49.00 for a flower is very, very expensive. Not too many Americans can afford to pay that much money for one particular flower. I promise! $49.00 is more than what some Americans can afford to pay for ALL their flowers in their garden. I think you may also have a misconception as to how much money the AVERAGE American makes. We may earn more money than people in China, but we also have to pay much more for the things we buy. It is nice to communicate with you on these forums. I appreciate your interest in gardening and your efforts to communicate with us. Your English is quite good. Meska |

Meska Thanks.I know it's expensive to live in American, but I thought people living in America is just like people living in China. The average salary here is about 20 000 to 30 000 RMB per year, that equals to about 2 600 to 3 900 dollars. I guess the average salary in America is about 30 000 to 40 000 dollars. The flower I usually buy is under 10 RMB (actually it's very cheap). When I graduate,I guess I will buy flowers much expensive,50-100 RMB is very common.Hehe, you know the rose here is usually 2 RMB and as I remembered a special rose sold in the new year is close to 200 RMB.Now you see why I think it's very cheap to buy a flower of 49 dollars.Hehe,I thought Americans spend much money on flowers? Is that true? |
