this is the hollyhock i wintersowed Dec. of 2005. it bloomed it's first year even though it's considered biennial. i saved every single seed from the 2006 blooms thinking i would have to start them again. the germination rate on this particular cultivar tends to be poor. it not only grew again this summer but put out 6 stalks and is blooming like crazy.

Oh foz!!!!! Do you have seed to share? I'd love some. And I definitely have white foxglove seeds this year, if you want to try again.

sure! i'd be glad to share the wealth(seeds). i'll post in the trading forum when they're ready. Sweetle, i'd love some white foxglove seeds so we'll definitely trade. i'll warn all again..these don't have a very good germination rate...at least they didn't for me.

i'm thinking about it, Sweetle. i just donated some of these images to the WetCanvas Reference Library so somebody's probably going to paint them.

thanks, Fishin BC! i was hoping they'd turn out to be semi-doubles which they did. the seeds can also produce singles and doubles according to my info source.
