I have a couple different large types of sedum plants planted in my back yard under my birdfeeders. The other day I noticed that something was nibbling on my sedum plants. I know it wasn't the deer because they would eat it down to the ground. So I was keeping an eye out to see who was visiting the plants (bunnies, bugs, etc). Wouldn't you know it... the little culprits are the finches! They perch right on the plants or sit on the ground, they aren't picky. But they nibble off the edges of all the leaves. I think that this must be a water source for them? I don't mind that they are getting a little snack. It is actually very interesting to see them doing it. I want to get a picture of them doing it. If I get one I will post it here. Tina |
