Beautiful pics! I have an empty hanging basket I wasn't sure what to plant, I think I'll try nasturtiums. |

I have a metal plant pot hanger that I wanted to grow nasturtiums in, and now that the seeds are sprouted, I've discovered that I planted morning glories instead! Don't know how that happened -

I bet that will be pretty. Nothing like a whole load of volunteers! Sort of.

I've acutally been thinking about ripping the mgs out and putting in wax begonias - I've never tried growing them, and this will be in full sun, and I'll bet I'll notwater them frequently enough.... |

yes! LOVE nasturtiums!!! have a large hanger that needs a coconut liner and couldn't find one this year. went to the good ole dollar store and found a big colander, lined it with newspaper and filled w/ soil and seeds. growing beautifully and they dangle enough that they hide the ugly colander...lol. this year's seeds seem to be only 2 shades of orange, so far anyway...last year's had 5 or 6 diff. colours - gorgeous! tasted them for the first time the other day and love them! the flowers even more than the leaves...can't figure what the flavour reminds me of, though. and the bonus to nasturtiums is that they smell like roses! |

Macy74 up here in AK we do things big!!!! I have grown these for two years now, when I planted mine for the first time I was told more the better with these. Since being told this I have always done that!!To tell you they are just beutiful and overflowing in my hanging basket and the have just taken off and bloomed. I have two to mention, the first I bought 4 4- inch pots of them and put into a wooden hanging basket. They are not overspaced or anything, these have a spreading out factor and will also hang down to give a hungover effect. Then, I have a plastic container, in which I planted from seeds red ones, I poured the whole package in because a master gardener said when planting from seed these, dump the whole package in, and they will sprout in no time!!! Well she was right, and it has cobered the container in plant growth. They are already about 12 inches in length and getting bigger, plus starting to bloom!!! So take it from a master gardener and a two year gardener in flowers, no worrying about overspacing on these plants!!!! Will try to post pictures of it, when I try to figure out how to post pictures!!!! Tammy |
