I went to the Heirloom Roses website to find info on pruning climbing roses and found climbers on sale! They're $9.95 now thru July 1. They sell virus-free own-root roses. The grower is here in Oregon and has an excellent reputation. I bought two roses from them last spring and they're growing like gang-busters. It's also a good resource for rose questions. There's a good rose FAQ that answers all your rose questions. http://www.heirloomroses.com/ |

I just spent about three hours checking out the stock....they do have some interesting varietys...but the prices for the better roses are the same range as other places..$15.99 to 19.99 each. I am looking for a pure white rose for a friend of mine...and they have several..the one that I liked Prairie Star a Buck Rose...and Polar Star a German Rose are both sold out.....Priarie Star was specially bred to withstand ZOne 4......I also liked the Frau KArl Druschki...another German from 1901...Very nice !!!...they do have one white at $9.99 a climber called Iceberg..newer 1968..and from England....its also a Floribunda...anyway..a real nice selection ! |

I have heard that Iceberg is very good rose. My single petal white climber is Darlowe's Enigma. The flowers are pure white and high on the fragrance scale, but not as showy as some. |

At Heirloom Roses. It's just now getting flowers on it. It's flowering on only one new cane. It's a small rose, like a wild rose. I can get a photo tonight or tomorrow. |
