Howdy ya'll.

I live in NE Texas - the most northerly and easterly tip of it which ought to give away the town I live in, heh. My name is Robin and I've been trying to garden my whole life and have only recently had some successes.

I have always had a passionate love affair with flowers so mostly I try to grow flowers: I can't seem to raise veggies, not even squash, so I just patronize my local farmer's market for those. But I do okay with herbs.

I am especially into fragrant plants right now (my lemon verbena and my patchouli and my gardenia are smelling out of this world wonderful!) and I'm converting my weed and dead tomato plant area into a butterfly garden.

I like to be as organic as possible.

I'm glad to find someplace where I might find good suggestions, as I seem to need some help sometimes...Martha never seems to kill off her plants and get leggy naked brown stems instead of blooms like I do. Heh.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome from Oregon! I like your name--it reminds me of a puzzle on the Wheel of Fortune.

I garden like you do--flowers and herbs, and starting to be more aware of adding scented flowers to my garden. The other day I ran my hand across some lemon thyme and my fingers smelled like pure lemons! Then when I asked my guy to smell my hands, he said he smelled onions. Women have a better sense of smell than men anyway...

Nice to meet you!

Grrr!!! How did Sweetle beat me to the punch.

And I must respectfully disagree about women having a better sense of smell.

I love all the great and varied scents in my garden.
