Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to build a 3 tiered (level) garden, or if you know of any good sites with how to's. thanks in advance!

How wide of tiers are you thinking of?

My recommendation would be sure to incorporate some easy ways to access the different tiers. That way the different tiers are easier to maintain when needing to weed, plant, water, etc.

For example, with my tiers with Garden rock I layed the top stones flat, so they formed a kind of stepping stone path. With my wood garden tiers I put regularly spaced boards for getting around on. With my brick tiers I used bricks that I could walk on.

I've tended to keep my tiers to 3 feet or less in width, so I would be able to reach into to them without having to walk on the dirt and by doing so compact it.

You can see some examples of this on my blog with pictures included at:

The forum seems to put an extra space in the links in a random spot, so when copying these to the browser, you should remove the space or the link won't work.

thanks for the tips, the only thing is my mom's garden is going to be on a smaller scale, and it's going to be built on flat land, not on a sloping landscape, she wants to put it in a corner as well. She also says she doesn't want to use wood, although I'm not sure if thats possible to do. if you have any more advice that would be awesome. thanks again
