This is my first pond and it was easy to do. It wasnt that costly i saved alot of money by getting my rocks from lake close to the house. The pond is 4ft by 7ft
24in deep and 220 gallons. I wanted bigger but back yard not big enough. I just need a few more rocks and some plants in and around the pond and ill be set.

Nice.

Reminds me of when I lived in Norman, Oklahoma and my parents had a pond in their yard. My Dad put a little baby aligator turtle in the pond and within a week it had killed all the goldfish.

Nice pond. I love having one. Best of luck with your home also!
Here's a pic of our pond (3rd year) Keep us posted as you add things ;D

(we just put a couple of forsythia in to hopefully hide the trampoline!)
Next year we're hoping for a decorative panel also.

The water is green but ive got that problem worked out ive added some barley bails and a 1200 gph pump and filter that should take care of it. I will post some night pics later. Love the ponds! I am waiting for our porch redo to be finished so I can put a small pond in front of it, and my DH promised a larger pond in our backyard. BTW, what is growing down the rocks?

You can also add 1 cup white vinegar per 100 gal of water, it will clear your water and wont hurt plants or fish. we use it in the spring until we get a good plant covering along with the barley bag.
