Hello to all...I'm new here and this is my second year of container gardening. I'm learning a lot just by observing what has happened to my plants from last year to this year but I still have lot's of questions. I'm hoping I can get some help with types of potting soil, drainage and plant food issues that I think I have. I have some photos posted and I'll try to post more, especially of some of my "problem" plants.
Thanks,
Debbie

Welcome to GG. I think you'll like this place. Thanks for posting pictures of your pretty flowers! I like container gardens. Last year I had a whole lot of them.

BTW, I use MiracleGro Moisture Control Potting Soil.

Hi Debbie, welcome from nothern Cali! I'm a container gardener also. I use Miracle Gro potting soil and lately I fertilize with the all-purpose Miracle Gro pellets, which last 3 months. I just started using mulch so I plan to switch to a liquid fertilizer soon. As for drainage, I place a broken piece of clay pot over the drainage hole(s), then fill the bottom of the pot with about an inch of broken clay pieces or rocks. I prefer to use plastic pots and planters so my soil doesn't dry out so quickly, and using the mulch has really helped. Hope this helps!
