If you want your petunias to really put on a show fertilize with miracle grow every time you water. Last year I had double petunias that I did this with. The others I think once a week would be sufficiant. I use osmocote in the pot when I plant them. That way they get double doses.

No you can find it at any your home improvement stores or walmart. It looks like a little seed but it last for 3 months. Sorry it took me so long to answer.

Just to clarify :-)Osmocote is the one that looks like little seeds. Miracle Grow does attach to the hose...however it doesn't have to. I mix mine up in a two gallon watering can :-)

I just was reading that MiracleGro adds too much salt to plants. Is there a good liquid fertilizer to use instead, or is Osmocote all you need? And what do you use for foliar feeding? I've seen that make a big difference in annuals!

Have you tried compost tea?

I believe you can use it both as a fertilizer and foliar spray.

Right, you can! I have plenty of leftover dairy manure so I'll make some. Yum!

Thanks, Divacs!
