My son has a beautiful rose in a sunny spot in his yard next to his porch railing. Year after year it produces beautiful light peach fragrant flowers. Is there any way I can take some of the "bush" & plant it in my yard, other than going through the propagation process. Since he's willing to give me some of it, can I "dig up" part of it & plant it?

That really depends on whether or not it spreads out and sends up new growth or if it is a bush type. The cutting process is not that hard look at this site it will help you take a cutting www.mgs.md.gov/mdrose/rfaqzcuttings.html If it does send up new individual stalks though you can just dig one up. Try to work in your shadow or at dusk when the sun isn't full. Good luck and happy gardening |

I am going to try to root some cuttings from a rose that came from my boyfriends gramma. It is a beautiful old cabbage style pink rose. It is full of buds now. I printed off the directions from the web site so wish me luck. Hope you get your cuttings to grow. I'll check back later this summer.
