Does anyone know if you can propagate bleeding hearts by taking a cutting? I've trimmed mine back after blooming this spring and stuck the cuttings in water. They are alive and seem to be trying to make roots but then can I just plant them? Also what is a good rooting medium for this method?
Thanks,
Therese

Well, I know you can do cuttings but you have to be extremely careful with those little delicate roots. I would say maybe a light soil/vermiculite mix so you can pour it in around them to cause minimal to no damage! I always just grab seed, they reseed prolifically!
