Hi my name is Trisha, and I confess, I can't even grow grass!!! I just bought a new mobile home in Maine (on 2.5 acres, with hopes to build someday) and the yard is horrendous, grass over leech field and around walkway will not grow, driving me nuts to look at it. Just want to be able to know enough about gardening to make this place look nice, with some simple flowers that are low maintenance. I have hopes of planting peas. I hope they end up being edible. I just killed an "air plant" that I got for Christmas from an old neighbor, she told me to spray it with water once a week... all of my nursing school and CPR training and I can't keep even this plant alive. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I need all the help I can get. |

Hi Trisha, I'm new at this plant thing myself. Just started growing herbs last year and found that I can actually do it! I joined a local herb society that meets monthly and has had some wonderful tips. I was like you in that I couldn't keep anything alive that was any shade of green. I find that Day Lillies are a very hardy flower and reproduce well. They pretty much just require water and bloom for a long time. They were my first foray into perennial flowers. I love them! Welcome and good luck! Diane |
