I am going to say that it depends on what kind of grass you have. Our grass is unbelievable it will grow no matter what... I found it growing in the middle of my "compost" pile. in the MIDDLE! how does that even happen. ugh. so yeah.

blink, the only way grass would sprout in you compost, is that your compost didn't get hot enough to really make compost. I always put every kind of grass clippings in my compost and never had a problem with weeds or grass growing.
