I'm interested to see how many or your have solar lights out in your garden. What are the pros and cons you have experienced in using them. Which make is the best in your experience. I have been using them for several years and find that the newer higher tek ones are nicer and brighter then the older amber colored lights. |

Guess that very few gardeners use solar lights in their gardens!! |

Well, last year I put some solar lights down my driveway. I really liked them. They were by no means bright. But they lit a nice path. Problem with that was my father in-law ran them over By the end of the summer- I had none left.I'm also thinking about puting some decorative solar lights in the garden now. |

I have about 8 solar lights in my back yard. I also have a couple of floating solar lights in my pond. I like them. They add a nice touch to the garden at night. My kids sometimes camp out in the back yard during the summer, and I like the safety of there being something to help them find their way around at night. My biggest challenge is with my kids playing with the solar lights. So far in the last year and a half, about half of my solar lights have been broken in one way or another. |

I like them since they produce light for free! I have 12 of them scattered around the garden. The cast such a nice subtle glow that lends itself well to the late evening garden! I'm always on the look out for pre-season sales where I can pick them up at half price. Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

Nice Ron! I need some doodads for my gardens - maybe I'll get a couple solar lights and see if I like them. |

All day sun would be best! You just cannot place them anywhere! |

I have several solar lights in different planting areas. I love them. Sure beats the wired ones. I buy the not very expensive kind, so when they need to be replaced, it isn't bad. Some kind of glow and some are actual lights. |

Yes, this would be a major reason why I'm not sure about putting any down my drive. My darling husband would surely back over them!!! He was nervous about letting me put my rock border in the bed down the driveway...heaven knows he's the one who killed the plastic edging we inherited! I'd love to have some lights. I guess I just need to invest some nice ones...a few at a time! |
