I had beautiful jasmine growing all over my chain link fence. It was one of the selling points of the house when I bought it. We put in a privacy fence and had to rip out all the beautiful jasmine to make it happen. All that is left is little stumps. Will it grow back? If not, can I plant more around it, or will the dead roots continue to pull the nutrients from the soil? I do not have a green thumb, but I am in love with my jasmine. Please give me any help you can!

Welcome to GG.
I know I look new, but I had to re-register for some odd reason...

If the roots are still intact, it should grow back. I love jasmine. Had some at our old house, and was one of the first things I planted in our new home.

does anyone know how long it should take to grow back. also, it was a little overpowering. after it grows (or as it grows) back can it be thinned?

It won't take long. I have wild yellow jasmine allllllll over my yard. It's a pain. Yes its pretty but not everywhere. I wish I could send everyone on here one plant. I still have a million left.

Where are you?I think you'd better clean them all since it's cheap flower. If you like you can buy some next year.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Xiao Yu, after two months in sunny warm FL you should be seeing *something* sprouting, at least. Sounds like the digging involved with the privacy fence may have injured the roots too badly. Maybe take butterfly1 up on their offer!
