I have searched all kinds of info on the web and can't find the answer I need. I was curious if any of you know how long it takes for a Southern Magnolia to start blooming. I've had mine now for about 2 years and it hasn't started blooming yet.....however it was a cutting taken from my mother's tree. It has been extremely happy in my yard and now is about 18 inches tall. Can you help me know when to expect blooms?

I have a Bigleaf Magnolia that will get flowers 1 foot across. It's 5 feet tall and i've had it 5 or 6 years and it hasn't bloomed yet, so git comfy. |

Usually they bloom in 4 to 6 years but can take up to 30. So sit tight it's worth it. Also zone, fertilizer and watering have alot to do with it. Good luck |
