March is what we call "stir crazy" month here. By now we're yearning to get into the gardens but can't even see them. So we shop! March is always the month I overspend. :o I've learned to budget for my March escape. Here are the plants and bulbs I've ordered that I haven't tried before. 1 - 'Miss Lucy' Double Oriental Lily 2 - Egret Flower 3 - 'Golden Queen' Trollius 4 - 'Blue Barlow' Columbine 5 - 'Lollypop' Asiatic Lily Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Oh my! Can I have all of the ones you have there and mine? LOL. I'm going to try a variety of things this year. One thing I know nothing about though is "Elephant Ear" A friend gave me a huge "CORM?" for an elephant ear. No Instructions. I'm assuming they need full sun?? Or is it shade? Anyone know? I know just the place to plant it in either case. And I am going stir crazy. it was 69 degrees today. The temp tonight will fall to at least 24. No planting yet. |

I think elephant ears need shade, dimona. I bought a miniature one for my shade garden a few years ago and it never came back in the spring. I only got a week out of it

Foz, I'm taking out old plants and putting in new ones. The gardens have to be divided (it's way overdue) and I need a change. We're going to have a garage sale in the spring, so I'm going to put out the plants I've taken out too. Ron, I'm going to plant the Egret Flower orchid in a planter so that I can bring it in for the winter. Thanks for all the info. I remember seeing the trollius, blue Barlow columbine and Lollipop lily in the pics you posted so I ordered them straight away when I saw them in the catalogues! |
