I came across this site that I thought would be useful. It allows you to look up your zone by typing in your zip/postal code. It's simpler than the maps. well, hotdawg! thanks for the link, Blue! i'm in zone 5[B]a[/B]. it's almost impossible to tell from the regular zone maps. |

That is certainly easy. I heard on a gardening show last week that the new zone map should be out sometime this year. I'm in 6b now but according to the new map I will be in zone 7 when the map comes out. |

huh...5b...i could never be sure....the new map says just "5"....whatever....i suppose my dream of growing bananas in indiana will have to wait until the global warming gets a little further along....that, and once the icecaps melt, we'll have a beachfront property

Wow I thought I was in 6a and now I find I'm in 5b. Oh well next week I'll be in 8b. That is a whole lot warmer. Longer growing season. More moisture and I'll be enjoying all of it. |
