1/4 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups confectioners' sugar

Combine milk and vanilla in a medium saucepan and heat over low heat until warm. Sift confectioners' sugar into milk mixture. Whisk slowly, until well combined. Remove the glaze from the heat and set over a bowl of warm water. Dip doughnuts into the glaze, 1 at a time, and set on a draining rack placed in a half sheet pan for 5 minutes before serving.

hope that helps
MIchelle

I've always wanted to make donuts. We made them once when I was a kid. Unfortunately, yeast and I do not mix. Does anyone have a good cake donut recipe?

What happens if you and yeast accidentially mix together? Do you rise?

Oh, that's cute.
I worked in a bakery for a year and a half. We got it out of a 5 gallon bucket, melted some and dipped them. then put them on a rack to drain. Scrape the drippings back into another container and reheat and use that up.

I've eaten those donuts for almost 50 years and their raised glazed donuts are still my favorite. Hubby said he used to put peanutbutter on them when he was a kid.

You can also use warm water instead of milk and brush it on with a pastry brush instead of dipping. Less sugar...but just as tasty.

My mom used to use canned biscuits for the donuts. She'd let me poke my finger through each biscuit to make the hole.

Thanks for jogging my memory!

I was just thinking that scarezimof, canned biscuits make great donuts. poke hole in middle and fry in pan of oil. Very easy and very good, i mean bad for you. LOL
