Look at what I just read!
QUOTE:
" It is also believed to affect the menstrual cycle, act as an abortifacient (inducing miscarriage), relieve menstrual cramps, increase urine flow, and reduce kidney pain (for example, from kidney stones).

Rosemary is generally considered safe when taken in recommended doses. However, there have been occasional reports of allergic reactions. Large quantities of rosemary leaves, because of their volatile oil content, can cause serious side effects, including vomiting, spasms, coma and, in some cases, pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs).

Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use rosemary in quantities larger than those normally used in cooking. An overdose of rosemary may induce a miscarriage or cause damage to the fetus. "

I have the begining of a cold and was wondering what it was my Aunt gave me when I was a small child, I recalled celery being in the horrible drink so I decided to research and see if it was celery. And of course my hand just kept clicking away on all links, Rosemary was said to relieve headaches in my daughters book but when she made pasta sauce and put some in after I ate it I would get a headache and went to sleep like a bear and couldnt get up for about 3 hours or so. When I wasn't even tired before I ate.

So, of course curiosity got the best of me and continued to click around and read...

then I saw this I thought it important to share.I didn't put it in the "Herbs" Section because I think it may get lost there.

So there you have it a GIANT PRECAUTION!!

Just for you that it may apply to.

That's very interesting Kale. Thanks.

I make up a honey and lemon drink for colds. I also take extra vitamin C when I have a cold coming on.

We should get Blue in here to tell us what to take as she is an expert on natural remedies.

Thank You !
Glad to be of some service

I have a certain respect for Herbs, it is a field that lots of knowledge is needed before one prepares even a tea! And Not everyone will respond to the tea the same way! I'm one of those people that doesnt respond the way most may,so I just grow them and admire their beauty and ability to keep pests away.

Have a Great "cold free" Day!

I LOVE MY herbs....

I drink a lot of green tea and black tea..sometimes I'll mix it with other teas but the base of green or black is always the base.

For colds or chills or flu..if caught early I use GOLDEN SEAL...I was introduced to it by my mother -In-Law..she used it all the time. It has a deep earthy taste and you don't need mutch of it at all....it will knock most things out of you body in a couple of days at most..and small things overnight.

I did have a bad experience with a herb that I grew in my garden and served to myself with DUNGENNESS CRAB. I got a allergy attach..mouth and tongue swelled..broke out in hives...it was TARRAGON ! So now I only use it sparingly if at all...mostly only in vinegar.
