I've never seeded them - always just divided. On small seeds like that it is just easier to plant them fluff and all. |

Kathy - I looked the other day because someone wanted some. It seems they are small and make up a small portion of the flowerhead. Clear on one end and a little darker towards the seedhead. |

I have not had a lot of luck with asters. Maybe it is too hot here. Anyone have a guess what might be wrong? |

My astors were absolutly beautiful this year. I live just on the other side of Augusta. They do like alot of mulch. It's raining here today but maybe tomorrow I will see if I can find some seed. I ordered them from a mail order company and they were so small when I got them. I babied and smothered them with attention ( and compost tea ). They turned out georgeous. |

Just send them fluff and all! The recipient shouldn't mind defluffing it! I'm not a seed-planter, but I wondered why you can't just plant seeds in their "fluff". Isn't that how nature does it? |
