DH built a beautiful greenhouse for me 5 years ago. It is a lean-to style off the south side of my gardening shed. We have used it since to start seeds and planted our tomatoes in the raised bed along the south side. We have aquired 2 complete 6 foot sliding glass doors and have decided to pre-fab another greenhouse this winter using the doors for the south side. We will use clear fiberglass panels for the roof. This will be used to grow squash and cukes in as our growing season is really short. My question is do we need to use glass on the east and west sides or can we use wood? Will the plants get enough sun with just the south side and the roof being clear? |

I used wood on mine and it works just fine. |

That's a beauty! Hubby's gonna shoot me when he sees that I saved our old shower door for on my yet-to-be-made greenhouse. |

I spent a,most nothing on this, less than $10, and that was for nails and paint. Everything else was from scrap I had laying around. |

mtngal can you post a picture of your greenhouse. I am interested in building one for as little money as I can. We have a Habitat Store here with a lot of old building materials so am hoping I can find some things there to build it. |
