So what bulbs will you all be planting this fall? I always plant freesia's. I like the double ruffled ones and the exotic colors. The fragrant scent is so great. I stick the bulbs in all my planters and container pots so I see them everywhere in the spring. |

We will be planting a few kinds of tulips. Also 3 different bulbs that I saved from beside a stump that was being destroyed. I know one is narcissus, but am unsure of the other 2. They are pretty though. I think that will do it for this fall, as there are quite alot of them. Can't wait until spring!!!!!!! |

I took advantage of that offer Ron, from Veseys....am getting 100 daffs from them and adding to my daffodils already established and also planting 75 crocuses in my front shrub garden for an early show. I have to watch the local nursery to get some King Alfred daffs to add to a garden which already has this variety there. I so love all the different varieties of tulips I see in the catalogues now, but can't grow them here as the deer think they are for their dining pleasure after a long winter season

I don't have deer problems, but the rabbits seem to like munching on anything green poking out of the ground! Nevertheless, I am going to plant a mass of mixed crocuses, and some pink daffodils. I am also very smitten with the 'China Town' tulips, but am equally attracted to the viridiflora tulip 'Artist'--I think they are breathtaking! |

I had rabbit problems this spring, but they didnt touch the daffs. They ate the tar out of my tulips though We always had beagles when I was a kid so I never thought about rabbits eating them until it happened LOL

I was wondering what everyone else does for fertilizer when they plant new bulbs? I have some organic pelleted fish fertilizer that is 7-7-2. Should I use this or is another # better? |
