Wildwind, Do you remember the chain store name and/or the brand name of the wagon? I looked for one but couldn't find one earlier in the season.

My inventive mother is in her 80's and still gets on her tractor for her "therapy." She has to use her cane to get out to the tractor and get back to the house due to knee trouble. But once she's on the tractor she has a nifty devise she invented for picking up debris that blows or gets thrown in the yard. It's part of an old cane fishing pole that she duct taped a nail on the end of.

lol I guess the nut didn't fall far from the tree!

On the lighter side, I just recieved a letter from the VA saying they are going to buy me a four wheel drive electric scooter. My grandson just came in from school and told me to write the VA back and have them put tiller mounting brackets on it.

What I start doing in March on the good days here in Indiana is to take short walks to get my body used to being outside and to take the stress of walking.
I have Osteo-arthritis in every joint and Fibromyalgia and Diabetes well I can stop there okay but what I am doing is getting my body ready for working outside and so far it does help. One inch then a mile!!

Happy Gardening

The first scooter the VA gave me just wasn't working to get me out in the yard, so I told my VA doctor and they bought this one and even installed an electric winch in the back of my truck so I can go shopping with my wife. It is wonderful we have already tried it out, both in the yard and shopping. I love the USA.

My mother has a bad back and she finds that soaking in a hot/warm bath with a couple cups of apple cider vinegar works wonders. You can use regular vinegar but apple cyder just smells better.

Hope it helps someone.

Hello,

I just joined G.G. and still finding my way around. happened to find this thread and would like to add to all the other great gardeners.

i have M D. but get around quite well, but have been known to do some pretty neat acrobatic tumbles on the uneven ground of our gardens. for me gardening is dignity "be darned"! i get on my hands/knees and crawl.

i gather all my kneeling pads/tools in a bucket, pull my little wheeled tractor seat, put a hat on my bald head and i'm good.

i'm so lucky to have a partner that enjoys the heavy, "bull work", digging, moving, chopping, building that i can plant, transplant, and get my hands nice and dirty.

and the coffee is always hot

thanks, good gardening
michael
