I have several radish plants that have been growing for awhile, they never produced any radishes, now i have ton of little green beans growing off of them in vines, the start from the main stem of the radish plant, can anyone tell me why I have these beans growing there and are they edible? |

they're seed pods. I'm not sure if they're edible. |

you can eat them...but they don't taste to good...you can leave them and harvest the seeds once the pods are dry.. Have you dug up and looked to see if a radish is under each plant..? Although if they have gone to seeds I would think they have become very woody and tough ... |

I had some in a planter that just grew skinny stems and had a tiny flower on the tops. No beanlike things on them and nothing but roots below. I didn't know they'd do that. |

Yes, they can do that. If they dont have enough room to grow, they will do funny things like that. Also, check the variety. Icicle radishes grow long and skinny

Well, I checked them today and I'll be darned if they don't have splotchy reddish beans hanging on them. I learned something new here yet again.
