Our grape plants ...the leaf actually is looking sisk...We have tones of grapes...red and green ...but I noticed over the last few days some of the leaves look very bad...lillt bubbles on them and the bubbles are turning brown..We have had 112 degree weather and it may just be from that ...but I am just wondering if it is something more...after the sun comes up I shall get a picture of the leaf ..thanks for any information. |

Veg, get in touch with your county extension office of the university. Or do a search for it on the computer. There has to be one in town there though and a phone call is all it would take. I have even gleaned some information from UC, Davis, but it was about something else. |

just a guess, but could it be sunscald due to the high temps "cooking" the juices/moisture in the plant? |

I think you have what I have Erineum Mites, but I really hope you don't. I started a thread here but had no responses. http://www.gardenguides.com/forum/showthread.ph p?t=17854 I posted to another forum and this was what they said. http://www.ubcbotanicalgarden.org/forums/showth read.php?t=14293 In any case, I am going to chop it down this fall and let it send up new growth to see if I can get rid of the mites. If not, it's coming out!!! |

I think P&R has pegged it. new problem to me. Did a bit of research and it appears there is little effect contorl avaialble, tho it appears it is usually not too serious... mostly unsightly. My alma mater does it again: http://www.ento.vt.edu/Fruitfiles/erineum.html< /u> |

No I don't think it'll go away..... but apparently it is not considered to be economically a threat to grape production. I would suggest good off season sanitation and maybe even horticultural oil when dormant to keep it in check. it seems to be one of those things that once you got em.... well you got em. |
