We saw this beautiful girl on our way home from the cottage on Monday. This is the very first time I've finally been successful in getting good moose photos! They are usually very timid but this one was very intent on getting her lunch.

Great pics Tammy. I've only been lucky enough to have seen one around here although there are many.

Thanks.

It was pretty open where she was and there were no babies around ... makes us think she herself is a fairly young one.

We see loads of moose around here in our travels but they are normally very shy and run into the woods but this one decided to just take her time and nibble. Great for me!

Tammie the photos are wonderful. I wonder if that coat is as velvety as it looks? Don't think I would try it though

Moose look their best at this time of year.... their coat is so rich and luxurious in summer, such a deep brown. In spring and fall, they look very ratty as they molt.

It's amazing how big they are. The head alone is two feet long! Absolutely majestic animals.
