Welcome to GG Gardens, everyone. As The Worm Turns is about life in the garden...and i mean IN the garden. Yes folks, there's a whole world in there teeming with all kinds of characters, relationships, drama and day-to-day life you just don't see while you're busy hoeing, watering and standing back to admire all your hard work. other 'things' are just as busy going about their lives. Here are their stories.

Here's our cast of characters(so far):

Foz...middle-aged female frog, has an eye for a beautiful bloom, a bit on the lazy side, sometimes forgetful but nevertheless loyal to her duties in the garden...as bug monitor. she hates the taste of bugs!

Sweetlebug...a persnickety ladybug. A worrywart who tends to get overly involved in the other bugs' lives while neglecting her own little buggers at home. Loves clover.

Dee Dee....a twisted orbweaver spider who runs the Gardenbug Liposuction Clinic. My "clients" fly in fat and juicy, I wrap them up in a silken blanket, give them a kiss, then drain their troubles away. Like my ad says "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed...no matter how big you are, you'll leave light as a feather". Moths have a special place in my heart!

poetic peony or poepeo for short...shallow-rooted, poet and lyricist who speaks occasionally in rhyme, has a phobia about ants crawling on her, and even though when she blooms she makes beautiful scents she sometimes doesn't make much sense. Compassionate, but impish. Sometimes the Poe comes through.

Anne Ant Not as industreous as most ants. Likes to lounge with a wee drop of wine. Loves a good gossip. Turns into Super Ant when someone or something is in need in the garden. Loves a variety of food and drink.

Gram-Butterfly....a beautiful Monarch, past her prime, but still living in the seventies! I flit from flower to flower groovin' on the nectar of life and my motto is "Peace Baby, Everything's Cool.....so chill dude". How much is a face lift? (I am very vain)

Zanny Zinnia Loves to hang out in the garden and give advice. A happy go lucky flower in love with insects of the beneficial kind, with an anti-pesticide attitude!

Dora the big boned, slightly {just slightly mind you} overweight deer...knows a good garden buffet when she see's one! Ohhh, is that Hosta's and rose's and chrysanthemums?!?!?!? Dora, as well as being big boned has multiple personalities {so anyone...feel free to assume her role }.

Mahatma Mantis (Maha), a meditative, philosophical praying mantis. Practices non-violence, but a guy's gotta eat! Believes that he is sending the bugs he eats to a "better place". Says a quick prayer for their souls before every meal.

Sooo...let's see what the GG Garden looks like. It's a beautiful garden, complete with brook, pond, gazebo and LOT'S of flowers. It's the kind of place any bug or self respecting flower would love to put down roots. It's well tended and well loved by it's creator(The Gardener). Let's have a look.....

It's a summer morning in the GG Garden. The night peepers have gone to bed and the day critters have taken to the wing or crawled out from underneath their rocks, leaves...whatever. down in the pond.......

Foz sat half-asleep on her lily pad. It was late morning in the GG garden water feature...Foz's usual wakeup time. Bzzzzzzz! Bzzzzzz! Foz popped one eye open and looked up. It was that pesky fly again! Foz opened the other eye and sighed. "Where in the heck is that Dee Dee!" she thought as she eyeballed that fat, juicy fly justa makin' a racket. "Sure looks like that one could use a little lipo ala Dee Dee! Where is he when i need him!" She had a love/hate relationship with flies. Actually she could care a less about flies. it was eating them that she hated. BLAHHKK! It was well past breakfast though, and Foz felt a little rumble in her tummy. Resigned, Foz flicked out her long sticky tongue and snatched the fly in mid-flight, and as she gulped it down, she imagined it tasted like a chocolate bon-bon. That wasn’t so bad(yea riiight), she thought, and hopped off her lily pad for her morning swim.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Fly had a sudden, sickening feeling that something horrible had just happened to her dear sweet husband!

Ahh, the joys of eight legs...eight struming legs on a web that'd make a harpist green with envy!

"Hush little Mrs. Fly don't say a word,
Dee Dee's gonna drop your weight by a third."

Her's a nice warm blankey Mrs. Fly, made from the finest silk mind you. Now shush, Mrs. Fly....you'll be with your husband soon.....eeeks! is that a bird!!!

The bird was a web stealing hummer {who as yet has no name...A-HEM!} one of the worst in Dee Dee's eyes! Where is that big tabby cat {another A-HEM} when you need her!!!

{So far we need a hummer and a cat, preferably a meat eater...at least according to Dee Dee.....any takers?}

MEOWWWWW........
Dee Dee looked up from his web with relief in his eyes but that quickly changed to shock..."What the??!! Oh No!!!" yup...it was Dora the schizophrenic deer and she was in her tabby mode today. "Good God...this is all i need today." said Dee Dee, rolling his gazillion eyes to the sky."she sure sounds like a cat. i hope she can catch that hummer like one, too."

"OUUUUUUCHHHHHH" screamed Poe, waking from a nightmare about Super Ant biting a chunk of one of her blooms. Realizing it was only a dream she went back to sleep.

“What a fine meal!” thought Sweetlebug, as she finished her 136th aphid. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a slight movement on the tender new growth of a rose bush. “Oh, I missed one!” she exclaimed and she opened her shell-like wings for a quick puddle-jump to the next rosebush. “Why, there’s Mrs. Fly! Yoo hoo! Mrs. Fly! What a lovely silk shawl you’re wearing today!.......Oh! Oh my! Oh dear!”

With that, Sweetlebug flew off to the compost pile to break the sad news to the Fly family.

Dora woke from a wierd dream about nasty, bitter catnip and coughing up furballs....whats that about?!? Anywho, gosh I sure could go for a nice rose petal and pansy salad! "Hey Sweetlebug darling! Want a ride over to that Belle Isis rose bush? It's one of those old garden roses that blooms just once a year, and let me tell you the flavor is simply divine! Oh and look, it's covered with aphids dear...here, you gobble them up....did you hear about the Fly family? Mr. Fly gobbled up by Foz and poor Mrs. Fly caught by Dee Dee. Granted I guess they deserved it, I mean the way they were always buzzing around my head, there was never a peaceful moment! All those poor maggots though in the compost pile...hmmm...anywho, did you hear Foz trying...and I emphasize trying...to sing on her lilypad last night? Well right in the middle of her "song" she lets out this belch-like ribbit...oh my goodness, I about fell over laughing! Did you hear the nasty thing that peony said to me when I went to sniff...sniff mind you...her flowers? Like I'd want to eat her bitter flowers.....and they don't even smell all that nice, let me tell you."
