My best friend sent me daisies from her garden to transplant into mine. After I water, they look good and even have new growth, but look droopy the next day. Are they just adapting, or will they not do well because it's too hot here? (I'm in Tyler, Texas, between Dallas and Shreveport) |

where does your friend live? not sure what zones they are good for, try to do a search to find the ones that you have to see what zones they are for |

It sounds like normal shock from the transplant.. They are very hardy and will bounce back I'm sure... I can't seem to kill mine so don't worry, be patient and watch em grow. They are spreaders so be sure you have room for more next year. |

I live in Zone 8 and she's in Zone 5 - I don't have a clue what kind they are, except she says that when she divided hers last year, they were droopy like mine are now, but they're fine this year. They've been planted for almost a month and they have new growth... |

I agree, cut them back a bit. Also something I have noticed with my daisies , all kinds , is that they enjoy the sun early in the day but by mid afternoon, they do better with some shade. They do like to be watered alot. You know if they are wilting like that, you can always put up some make shift shade until they readjust- a carboard box held up with a stick. something along that line. Just until the roots adjust in.That should make a big difference. |

I didn't cut them back - I was afraid to! They get watered every evening - I'll put some shade over them and see if that helps. |
