I purchased this annual around Mother's Day and have enjoyed it so much that I let some of the flowers go to seed. When I pulled up the ID tag I noticed it was not labeled correctly. The label was "Sunshine Yellow Dimorphotheca" with 3" blooms. My plant has bright yellow flowers that are .5 - .75 inches across. It also has fern like leaves and stems. Since I am growing it in containers the total plant size is about 6 inches high. It likes full sun, and does not like to dry out. Please help ID this plant. Attachments: ![]() |

All of the thread leaf coreopsis flowers I have seen have fewer petals and smaller centers. Mine is also very dense, not airy like most coreopsis. |

I think that you have Dahlberg daisy there...it is a wonderful, carefree annual that will flower all summer. |

No, not too many petals...look at the variety "Early Sunrise" on this link. The leaves don't look "thready" on this one either. Always something new to confuse us! http://www.bigdipperfarm.com/cgi-bin/searchstuf f.pl?Botanical=Coreopsis |

Thanks a bunch for everyone responding so quickly. I am going to agree with Jade that it is a Dahlberg Daisy. My husband and I bought our first house in November so I have lots of things in my yard that need to be identified. I will be posting another one this week sometime. Thanks again! |
