I got on the web today to find out if I could transplant my hostas and I got on this website; figured it would be fun to do a forum! Gardening is challenging for me because I live at 8300', have clay soil, and a short growing season.
Also, on my retirement income I have to rely heavily on existing materials (like rocks, tree stumps, limbs, etc) to create my rock gardens, fences, etc., etc. Hopefully this site will give me some pointers and just good gardent talk! :banana-wa

Hi, there. I am on a retirement pension too. Gardeners don't need lots of money we just have to be inventive and, when some of our perennials increase, split and spread the wealth in the garden. This is the best site with the best people so stick around and ask any questions you want, nothing is too stupid...........I know from experience.

Thanks, everyone, for all the greetings! I'm looking forward to using this site to gain info. I'm sure there are lots of knowledgable, avid gardeners here! Yes, I did get an answer about my hostas (from the archives, actually). I was going to move them today, but it was cloudy and yukky, so I didn't get it done.

Hi Blondie, nice to have you here. So where in CO do you live? I love your state and have visited often. My hubby lived in Crested Butte after high school and we have lots of family in Fort Collins, Boulder, Denver and Colorado Springs.

Pacificstar:

I live down in the Four Corners Area (where Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado meet). Went to school for a year in Gunnison, which is real close to Crested Butte. Colorado is a great state--especially our area!
