I've never seen a berry on them and they don't seem invasive - no suckers or anything. Pruning them has made them bushier. I trimmed a few limbs out that were haning on my property (about 4 feet) and it grew back really nice this year. Japanese Deciduous Privet Ligustrum obtusifolium looks like it.
