That works.

I hated snapdragons too but I ended up buying some white ones with burgundy edges to go with my burgundy petunias. I don't really like petunias either but I went for quick and easy in the cedar planter. Told you I'm not as fussy as those RCers think I am!

Don't like petunias?! You've obviously never tried the new Tidal Waves, or Superfinia! Even the Madness are nice. They all make such a wonderful show! Is it that you don't like deadheading them because they're sticky? You don't have to deadhead the Tidal Waves, or the Waves, they're self-cleaning. And why don't you like snapdragons? Kids love to "snap" them. Or did you not know that about them? Here are my white Madness petunias from a few years ago. And the second pic is my Tidal Waves, when they were just starting out. They grew to twice that height, at least.

I don't like plants that are overused. I don't like plants that are used to landscape the local McDonalds. It just taints them forever.

I tend not to like yellow and orange annuals. (And red anything, except roses, and especially geraniums!) I was surprised at the variety of colors and bi-colors that's available in snapdragons and bought a few to go with the petunias. For the few petunias I have in my planter box, I don't mind deadheading a bit. I own soap, Blue.

Zana, I've mispelled a few things myself recently, such as 'heuchera' and 'variegated'! I just misspelled 'misspelled'! lol!

I thought about coreopsis! I have the tight bushy variety but I know there's a looser one with bigger flowers that would look nice in a pot. But I'm not sure yellow would look good next to the burgundy colors of the cedar planter. What do you think? I'll get pics today.

Dark blue seems like a good choice though. I thought blue salvia would be nice as a spiky plant and white and blue lobelia as a trailer. I need a filler! What color would look nice in terracotta and not clash with the burgundy right next to it?

I'm itching to get this planter going!

Sweet potato vine, chartreuse ( can you tell I have a thing for that colour lately??) would make a nice filler and would set off the burgundy.

I finished that planter, Daisy. I have Creeping Jenny in the cedar planter with the burgundy and it does look nice. We took pics this morning and will post them later today. I'm trying to find something to go with blue salvia and lobelia that won't clash with the burgundy in the other planter.

I think I like a softer grass than a spike. The nursery I went to yesterday didn't have much of a selection of grasses. I'll have to shop around.

How about an artemesia (sp?) - silver king or something silvery?
