That is Barkhamsted Ct and I know the ladies there are really nice, so if they don't have stuff online, they'll probably send you pics though email if you wanted.

What a great thread! I adore the pictures. I love fun, whimsical stuff. A fairy garden never occured to me before. Hmmmmm..... I have always wanted to do a Dr Seuss themed garden. We visited Seuss' landing at Universal Studios and They had alot of great stuff going on in the gardens there. Haven't managed to sell Hubby on the idea yet. Maybe he'd be more open to faries
I'll try to find some of the pics from Universal to post somewhere.

Oh how nice. My dd would have a fit. In fact she did when I showed her the pics. We are hoping to pick up some of the cute little fairies to add to our garden soon.

I've never seen this thread because I'm fairly new on this site, but the minute that I did see it, I thought of homemommie. I'm glad that you got to see it. I'll look forward to seeing your fairy garden.

Try these sites...http://www.efairies.com/garden_furniture.h tm, and
http://www.thefairysgarden.com/

I too am a faerie fan! I have to put all of mine away every winter and I can hardly wait to put them back out in spring. I have a collection of imps, which I'm very fond of as well. I love the pics!

to find new Fae buildings and such, the best place i have found is www.efairies.com they have a HUGE selection of buildings and accesories. Seriously, this place is awesome! Also, if you have any metaphysical type stores in your area then they may have little Fairies to put in it or crystals for them. They do like pretty and shiny things!!!

For plants that the Fae like and are associatied with read any or all of Ellen Dugan's books. She discusses in several of her books how to deal with the Fae. These books are Pagan in nature so know that first. The one that has the best info for a Faery Garden, complete with a layout and plant listing, is "Garden Witchery." Combine this layout with your own imagination, buildings and fae and Voila!

Also, Scott Cunningham's herbal books and books that are dedicated to the Wildwitch/Hedgewitch path will have plant correspondences.

After all, having places for your Faery friends to live means nothing if they don't like the plants!

HI, try Farley's Fairies. No, just joking, but maybe you should start a business selling fairies! It looks like you're creating a haven there. My concern, design-wise, is that you'll have all these fairies scattered around and you'll lose your focus for why they are there. Create a story for each grouping. How can you make little rooms for fairies, like in a house, for instance? Plan a "journey" around the garden to the different fairy rooms.

If you don't provide some kind of backdrop or frame around your collections, they will look disorganized and you will lose a very important aspect of design - organization/form.

You obviously have a passion here, which is great. The tree idea with the larger faeries is creative. Use some small plants to help frame your fairy beds! Miniature evergreens could be very useful here. Use miniature walls/fences, stones, and instead of just spreading them out everywhere, create small rooms in your garden when you can have themes, or that can contain certain kinds of faerie collections. Create family tableaus. But it is important to give the eye a rest here and there, then give it a focus on a scene. If there is no organization and focus, no journey from one thing to the next, the eye just doesn't know where to go. Mostly just have fun! eBay probably has lots of faerie stores!
