The 100+ acre Arboretum down the street is having thier annual plant sale today : )

What's great about this one is that they pretty much focus on plants that are specifically for my area (deer resistant and shade/woodland) and they have horticulturists advising for free.

I can't wait to come back to tell ya'll what I got : )

I got a few columbines but they are differant then the hybrids I got last week. I think these are a native variety in white. I also got 2 pots of Hens and chicks...a red one and a green one with lots of chicks! Should the HC's just go in pots?

*gulp* Yes, the sempervium can go in pots... or the ground.. but in the ground it'll spread. Stupid plant. Hate the darn thing and I know so much about it.

Lucky you, Briar... our Arboretum doesn't have its plant sale until Sept!

No, you can easily pull out the ones you don't want. I just got some from my neighbour and bought some as well.

I just got back from the garden center and got some Jacobs ladder (varigated with little purple flowers), Yarrow, St. John's Wort. Also picked up some Honeysuckle and a trellis for the side of the garage that faces our new patio. I wish I had taken some before shots of the area, it was horrid.

I keep seeing more and more reference to deer resistant plants in nurseries and magazines. Maybe you should start a deer resistant plants thread, Mainegal.
