Does anyone else have a mint garden? It's one of the only things that wildlife won't eat so I pretty much dedicated a part of my garden to them. Can anyone tell me what mints flower?

So far I have lemon balm, bee balm and peppermint and catnip/catmint.

Congrats on starting yer herb garden. I jus love herbs. Lemon Balm While in the mint family Is not considered a "mint'. It's great fer herb teas and will bloom at the end of the season. One of my fav's.
Bee balm is Not a 'mint'either. It gets a bit tall and has beautiful blooms. Leaves good in herb tea. Attracts Butterflies. Peppermint is a 'mint ' and great in teas . Best in a container as it it is terribly invasive. Catnip and cat mint are two different plants. Catnip is great in teas. Will bloom but best to nip them. Catmint is pretty but not edable.
These are all probably listed as being in the mint family, but are truly different plants.
Oh yes the Lemon balm may be a bit invasive so be careful where ye plant it or put it in a large pot. It has a wonderful smell. Good Luck! :animorang

I have Peppermint, Spearmint, Lemon Balm, Bee Balm and Catnip. They all get flowers but Monarda is the only one that is really showy. It also attracts the hummingbird.

At my old house I had catmint and it was really nice towards the front of my garden with the little purple flowers that bloomed until frost. I let it spread to a point of being a little bush : )
