Ok so if you have an extra prayer I could really use it. Almost 5yrs ago, my hubby, mother and I rented a house. (Mom was wit us to help me as I was pregnant for the first time after the death of my son) When we moved in the place was trashed!!! Meth pipes, needles, condoms, trash, broken glass, you name it, it was there. The lady let us clean it for the deposit. We did and it was a beautiful home. When my daughter was 6months old, my hubby and I were having marital problems. Since our lease was up he and I decided to seperate. We gave about 15 day notice, the landlord was ok with it. We gave her 1/2 cash and left a brand new washer and dryer set. She came to the house before we moved said she would accept our cash and property as payment, looked at the house and said it was ready to rent, thanked us and that was the end of that. She was suppose to send me a reciept, but never did. I thought nothing of it as everything was fine when we left. Well, two months ago we get a letter from a collection agency stating she wants 2,400 from us. We have court on the 18th of this month. After speaking to a lawyer, it sounds as though we don't have a chance in hell, because she never wrote out that reciept and it will be our word against hers. I am so angry, and offended. She did the same thing to a couple that lived just down the street from us right after we moved in. But we didn't really think anything of it cause we didn't know them or the situation. I don't understand why people are like that. To me if she wins that makes us look like junkie dishonest people and we are not. Sorry to be a cry baby, but thanks for listening. ~Trinity~ |

You have my prayers. God gives us grace to deal with problems. That doesn't mean life is always fair, it means He will be there for us. Dishonesty on her part will have to be paid for...God always sees justice done. You know in your heart this is wrong on her part...we will pray about it and let God deal with it. JJ |

Putter is right.......life is not fair.....so sorry for your situation....it just always makes sense to get a written receipt...you never think you will need it........and most times you don't.......it is just that one time that burns you......Praying it all works out....God will see you through and deal with the other party too.....just trust HIM......God bless u....Birdie < |

Please remember to include our military personel in your prayers every day. For those of us who have family in military, some things are always on our mind. They give so much to ensure the peacefulness of our daily lives, even when we don't know about it. All God asks, is that we care, he will carry the burden. |

Hi! I wanted to thank everybody for your prayers. It looks as though we are going to have to pay that woman money that is not HONESTLY due to her. It's not fair, or right, but after speaking to a lawyer we found out that she could get even more than the original 2,400.00, so we have mediated and we will have to pay 1,845. We will be able to do it in payments, which is good for us right now. I don't like it, but she will certainly get hers in time. Take care and God Bless! ~Trinity~ |

Have you ever noticed the blindfolded lady holding the scales of justice on our courthouses? She is blindfolded so she can't see the shenanigan going on inside. Hope you get a fair and reasonable ruling. Bill Mitchell |
