I love the dark purple and chartreuse foliage. They're striking together! |

I have the purple in huechera Obsidian and cimicifuga Hillside Black Beauty. My limey hostas are Chinese Sunrise and Platinum Tiara. I also have a new one named Sweetie that is lime green. I have a tiny sprig of variegated hakone grass--wished I knew it was a slow grower, plus my cat thinks it's for him. My hardy fuchsia Aurea has yellow green leaves. Also a small fern that is lime. The leopard plant looks good too with its big yellow spots. Creeping Jenny is lime green in the shade and loves it moist. So lots of ways to brighten up the shade with just foliage. |

There was a guy in at work today looking for the blue begonia that he saw there last week. Well, I know that there has never been a blue begonia at our garden center. I told him, hey, I do all of the watering here and I have never seen a blue begonia, so if you find it let me know, because I want to see it. So...he happens to find what he was looking for, a Martha Washington geranium that is burgundy with a white edge...hmm. He say, "This is it!!!" Ha, I say, well, that is a Martha Washington geranium that is burgundy with a white edge. Then he admits that he is color blind. I got a good chuckle out of that one and so did he. A little off topic, but I thought that it was funny. |

My brother is colour blind too, so most things he describes to us is grey.

I saw an older lady in a store the other day with real, real, orange hair, I mean tangerine orange. She must be colored blind. Of course, the young ones dye their hair in streaks of orange, red, blue and green, so maybe the older lady is just "with it" !

My Granny had a little space between her carport and the neighbors fence that I would go by and hide and play my own little games. That is a neat little place you got there, Garden Bear |

Coleus and impatiens are shade annuals. I can't think of any other at the moment. |

I love caladiums for shade color but for me they are a bulb that has to be dug up every winter. I just put them in planters and that way I know where the bulbs are to dig them up. |
