To fix blue berry planting mix, I add some peat moss and acide loving plant fertilizer with my garden soil because PH of my garden soil is too high. After I planted blue berry plant in large pot, I sprinkled about 3 table spoonful sulfur and covered with pine bark before I water. Later, when I was reading article about planting blue berry, what I found out is it takes one year to lower PH when we add sulfur to soil. How can I lower PH quickly for blue berry plant? I think I planted blue berry plant in too alkaline soil because I did not use enough peat moss and acide loving plant fertilizer. I want to raise my vegetables, fruits and flowers organically but it is better to save my blue berry plant than killing if only way to save is to use chemical. Please excuse me for my English. English is my second language. |

Before doing anyhting else check the pH of the pot soil now. If its around 6.2 or lower let it go and recheck next year. If it is above there may be some other actions you can take to counter the pH. |

The nursery told me to mix about 2 pots worth of used coffee grinds into the soil around my blueberries, in April-May, then again in July, and again in Sept. |
